Vallnord - Arinsal Pal will once again host the World Cup mountain bike 14 and 15 July 2018
The Union Cycliste Internationale has chosen La Massana to host the Mountain Bike World Cup in 2018, and has set the final date for organizing the event next year. Once again, Vallnord – Pal Arinsal will host two events: Cross Country on the one hand and Downhill on the other, on 14th and 15th of July 2018. This will be the 8th round of the race calendar, starting on March 7th in Stellenbosch (RSA) and ending in La Bresse (FR) on August 26th.
The 2017 events
Before this 2018 sporting calendar, remember that this year, a double event will be organized: the Masters World Championships from 19th to 24th June, then two World Cup rounds (XCO and DHI) from 26th June to 2nd July. Before that, the official presentation of these two events will take place on March 9th at “Les Fontetes” Theater in La Massana, just 100 days before.
Leading events in terms of media coverage
The Vallnord – Pal Arinsal races were the most popular of the 2016 season. According to the UCI data, more than 9 million viewers followed the Andorran races, ahead of the 8.7 million recorded in Lenzerheide.
As for online viewing, Vallnord also trailed more than 2 million followers, well above Cairns races, which had totaled 1.64 million.
The sum of all these data confirms that La Massana and Andorra are one of the favorite events, from both organizers and riders points of view, to host a high-level competition.
