Vallnord – Pal Arinsal is located at La Massana. It has 63 skiable kilometres and direct pedestrian access to the pistes thanks to the La Massana gondola, the Els Orriols gondola at Arinsal and the Josep Serra chairlift, also at Arinsal. There’s a certified freestyle zone and facilities designed especially for young children, as well as being the hub for other activities complementary to skiing. It’s noted for the gentle slopes of its mountains and wooded terrain.
The Vallnord – Pal Arinsal resort is open ten months of the year and, in the summer, offers clients the chance to try out mountain bike runs at Vallnord Bike Park La Massana, one of the foremost locations in southern Europe, as well as enjoying family and adventure activities such as the rope park, motorised excursions, go-karting and ziplines, among others. Its interest in mountain biking has helped Vallnord – Pal Arinsal become the venue for the BTT World Cup and, in 2015, the site for the Masters and Elite World Championships in XCO, DHI, XCE, Trial and Team Relay.
Vallnord Bike Park, one of the main attractions of the “Valls del Nord” of the North, offers 25 circuits at different levels (18 downhill, 2 enduro, 3 cross-country, 1 modular pump track and 1 mini wood park for kids).
Three mechanical lifts operate in summer to give users access to the Bike Park: La Massana gondola lift (departing from the centre of the village, at 1,300 m, and arriving at La Caubella, at 1,950 m) and 2 detachable chairlifts (La Serra II and El Cubil). This last lift reaches the highest point in the Bike Park, at 2,350 m.
Additional services have been established at Vallnord Bike Park to give added value to the facilities here: bike hire and maintenance service shops, downhill school, hotels and apartments adapted to the needs of users, and bike cleaning and parking areas.
The Pal resort in La Massana is the ideal destination for family adventure activities like archery, zipline and downhill karting, amongst others. Not only that, but children up to eleven years can discover Pekepark, a fun area equipped with slides, ball pools and trampolines.
Visitors can also enjoy driving motor vehicles (buggies or four-wheel drives) around the Pal resort or even to the village of Tor in Pallars Sobirà county to learn about the dark history of that mountainous area.
Again, those who prefer to discover nature in greater peace and quiet need only take one of the signposted footpaths that start out at Pal, some reaching as far as the village of La Massana.
Enjoy Vallnord all year round with the Ski&Bike pass. Come during the winter season, then when it is over, follow the path to enjoy the mountain in all its states and do your favorite sports: hiking in Arcalis, mountain biking in the Vallnord Bike Park in Massana during the hot season. Or, ski or snowboard when the snow is here, in either one or the other of the two resorts. With the Ski&Bike pass, Vallnord is yours from spring until the end of winter.
